This week, The National Ballet of Canada celebrates it’s 60th anniversary season with a week-long series of dance on film at the NFB Mediatheque.
The series launched on Tuesday with a screening of Celia Franca: Tour de Force by Veronica Tennant. The exhibit also features guest speakers, including authors James Neufeld and Carol Bishop-Gwyn.
Historical photographs and vintage tutus and pointe shoes are just some of the things you should expect to see at this exhibit. It will also feature an archival display highlighting the past 60 years of the National Ballet, which they broke into segments including a look at the day-in-the-life of a dancer, the production side of the company and the conditions dancers had to work in during the early years of dance.
The exhibit also includes an interactive station where visitors can watch a dance and film playlist onsite.
The exhibit will continue until February 29th. For the full list of programming, check out the NFB website.
